| What is a Master Plan? |
White Lake Township’s Master Plan for Land Use represents an opportunity to set the course for sustainable development and redevelopment in the Township through the establishment of goals, objectives, strategies, and plans. The Master Plan is comprehensive, providing for future land use, transportation, and community facilities and services in a coordinated fashion. It portrays a clear statement of community goals and objectives, establishes a vision of the future, and includes plans to achieve the vision. In addition, the Plan promotes a land use pattern that is consistent with the community’s goals. The Planning Commission will continue to post information here regarding Master Plan Updates and welcomes the public to its meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month where the Master Plan will be discussed. |
| The information and concepts presented in the Master Plan are used to guide local decisions regarding public and private uses of land and the provision of public facilities and services. The Plan is long-range in its view and is intended to guide development in the Township over a period of 10 to 20 years. Based on the results of the community survey, which was distributed from December 1 to January 16, and the public open house, held January 20, the Planning Commission has updated the Master Plan Goals & Objectives. The implementation chapter has also been updated. |
