2011 TIF Plan Update

 

Overview
The City of Ferndale created a Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Plan in 1981. Over the years, the plan has been updated, and is currently due for renewal.

Since November 2010, the Ferndale DDA has been working to update its TIF Plan to acknowledge the goals of the City's 2008 Master Plan, the 2010 Complete Streets Ordinance, and the Woodward Avenue Action Association's Non-Motorized Transportation Plan, as well as explore the opportunities to expand the TIF district, and identify long-range projects.

Existing TIF Plan Update
The approved plan is available as a PDF file. Note the side tabs are hyperlinked within the document for easy navigation.

The DDA Board approved the plan on February 9, 2012. City Council approved the plan on March 12, 2012.

 

Public Participation
A public open house was held on June 29, 2011 at Valentine Vodka from 5-8 p.m. Area open houses were held over the summer/fall.

Participants in these open houses had the opportunity to add their input to "what's working" and "what needs work." Check out the posters from each area:
